What started as a cover band of friends looking to have some fun and blow off steam, quickly turned into a darling of the 90s Midwest music scene, following the release of their self-titled debut album in 1996. Relentless touring from California to Kentucky for the next five years, along with two more critically acclaimed records, 1999’s “A Little Bit Misunderstood” and 2001’s “3 minute Pop Song,” saw the band’s popularity climb, even as its members found themselves in different stages of life. Though a series of lineup changes kept the music alive, search for george officially “disbanded” in 2005.
But founding lead singer/songwriter Mark Dahm kept writing and turned his passion for songcraft to building The Warehouse, a state-of-the-art recording studio where he continued to refine his songwriting and passion for recording.
Today, Dahm and keyboardist David Pendery continue to write and record under the search for george name, with the help of a revolving cast of friends from the South Dakota music scene.
